When utilized (Box API for example), data transfer is encrypted as part of the HTTPS communication protocol. Local credentials in SkySync’s database are encrypted by a key specific to the Windows server. These keys are generated on the local machine and cannot be accessed by SkySync personnel. SkySync recommends the server local file system be protected per Windows best practices to avoid undesired access to the encryption keys.
SkySync only uses channel encryption for data transfer per platform support. SkySync does not cache or keep copies of files. SkySync does not apply additional data encryption.
